Steckerlfisch Grillaufsatz für Gas x4

At the foothills of the Alps, it is very common to grill fish in this traditional way. Carefully skewered, the delicious fish is skewered on a stick ("Steckerl”) over the fire and then cooked over the heat deflecting embers. When the delicious skin of the aromatic fish becomes crispy, the tasty fish is ready to eat. It is an enjoyable classic in Bavaria, Austria and Switzerland. It is now served as a popular meal in many themed restaurants or at private parties throughout Germany.

Fish on a stick, as it is called in northern Germany, or "Steckenfisch", is particularly popular in beer gardens in Austria ("Gastgarten") or at folk and club festivals as well as regional church fairs and is one of the most traditional fish dishes in southern Germany and the Alpine region. The fish has its traditional origins at the Steckerl, in Upper Austria in the beautiful Salzkammergut region.
Mackerel, or any “oily” fish, has proven to be the best fish to grill on a skewer, but simple regional fish species such as trout or char are also used for grilling. Preparation is very simple and can be done without prior knowledge.
